EFEKTIVITAS PENGELOLAAN ARSIP PADA KANTOR BADAN PUSAT STATISTIK BALANGAN

Abstract

Management effectiveness is a process, method and act of managing problem phenomena, namely a lack of human resources, a weak filing system and a lack of facilities and infrastructure.This thesis aims to describe and discuss in depth the effectiveness of archive management at the Office of the Central Bureau of Statistics Balangan.

This research is a type of descriptive-qualitative research. Data collection techniques through interviews, observation and documentation. The data analysis techniques used are data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions.

 The results of the study show that the effectiveness of archive management at Balangan BPS is quite effective in terms of: First, Human Resources who have Skills indicators, archivists at the Balangan BPS Office can be said to be less effective, because they do not yet have special archive management. Educational indicators, archiving staff at the Balangan Central Bureau of Statistics Office can be said to be ineffective because they do not have an educational background for archiving specialists so that archival management at the Balangan BPS Office is still less effective in the archives sector. Training Indicators, at the Balangan BPS Office it can be said that it is less effective because there is only one training for archive managers so that archive managers have not fully mastered managing archives effectively and properly. Second, the Archive System which has a Storage indicator, at the Balangan BPS Office can be said to be effective because using a manual and digital storage system makes it easier to manage and find the archive again. The service indicator has been effective because all employees get good service by archiving officers. The indicator for borrowing archives, Lending Archives at the Balangan BPS Office has been effective. Archive Maintenance Indicator, at the Balangan BPS Office has been effective because it has been carried out according to standards. The indicator of archive destruction, the Balangan BPS Office has been effective because it is in accordance with the standards following the rules from the center. Third, facilities and infrastructure with indicators of office facilities and infrastructure are still not effective because there is still a lack of cupboards and shelves for file storage.

 Increasing the effectiveness of archive management at the Balangan BPS Office is expected for the Head of the Balangan BPS Office to be able to provide a special archive manager so as to create an effective archive manager and add facilities to maximize archive management
